If you want to change anything, you have to be honest about what the reality is before you start
Ask yourself, “where am I now?”
Think about it, if I give you a map that shows you how to get to the perfect destination in your life, but you don’t know where you are, are you ever going to find that destination?
If you go to a big shopping mall, and you find the store-plan, what’s the most important thing to find on it?
It’s the bit that says, “You are here”.
If you can’t be honest about where you actually are, you can’t move forward.
Accept the reality – not better than it is, not worse than it is
Don’t be hard on yourself and play down what you’ve already achieved but don’t exaggerate and then believe your own hype either.
So many of us beat ourselves up. We’re our own worst critics. Don’t beat yourself up. Don’t make it worse than it is.
Be completely honest about your reality of where you are now.
Be real. Give yourself a real honest appraisal.
Anything you want to do in life, you have to start with honesty about where you are. You need to know your starting point.
